JEFF GARRETT

President

Jeff’s extensive knowledge of real estate development spans several decades. After graduating from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelors in Business Administration and Management in 1993, Jeff started his career working with prominent home builders, Presley Homes and William Lyon Homes. Jeff then continued his educational pursuit at the University of Southern California graduating with a Master’s degree in Real Estate Development in 2001. He broadened his experience developing master planned communities, shopping centers and a variety of other commercial properties on a national scale as a partner at Evergreen Development.

In 2009 Jeff took his experience in retail, multifamily and residential development services to pursue his own venture and formed Garrett Development Corporation. He continues to be involved in the day to day operations of the business and all development and asset management activities.

RICHARD “RT” STARR

Executive Vice President

RT began his career at Evergreen Devco, where he spent 9 years working on all aspects of development from entitlements to construction and leasing. He joined GDC as an Executive Vice President in 2010, focusing on acquisition, deal sourcing, and asset management. His extensive knowledge of real estate economics and of the self-storage industry has greatly benefitted GDC’s self-storage and commercial portfolios.

Born and raised in Arizona, RT graduated from the University of Arizona in 1999, where he earned a B.S. in ( Finance & Economics). In 2001 he graduated from the University of Southern California, with a Master’s degree in Real Estate Development where he met Jeff Garrett.

MATT BUTCHER

Executive Vice President

Matt started his career in real estate in 2004. He currently focuses on acquisition and deal sourcing for GDC and providing asset management and strategic planning to GDC’s institutional clients. He has broad based experience in public infrastructure and municipal financing and both ground-up and value-add development and entitlements for residential and commercial projects.

Matt is a member of the Urban Land Institute and serves on the Small Scale Development Council and is also a member of the Self-Storage Association. Matt graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Finance. He has served as Vice President for GDC since 2012.

TINA KELTY

Associate Vice President, Designated Broker

Tina joined GDC in early 2015 after beginning her career doing large scale acquisitions for a local REIT. As the Associate Vice President for GDC, she oversees development of their retail and self-storage portfolios from entitlements to construction and leasing. She has a bachelor’s degree in Housing and Community Development and a Masters of Real Estate Development from Arizona State University.

WYATT BROWN

Associate Vice President

Wyatt joined Garrett Development in 2016.  He brings experience in both lending as well as finance advisory services, having worked with Wells Fargo Bank for eight years before joining DPFG, a commercial real estate consulting firm specializing in public finance and special taxing districts. Wyatt graduated from Arizona State University with degrees in accounting and international business.  In addition to managing GDC’s finances, including all underwriting and Lender or Investor relationships, he oversees the development of several residential master plan communities.

BRAIDAN COOMBS

Real Estate Accountant

Braidan joined GDC in August 2022 with several years of prior accounting experience and has a degree in Finance from Utah Valley University.  As our lead Real Estate Accountant he manages all project finances including invoices, loan payments, and end of year financials.

TYLER GARRETT

Development Associate

Tyler joined the GDC team in 2023 after graduating from ASU with a Masters of Real Estate Development from the W.P. Carey School of Business.  As a Development Associate he assists with acquisition, due diligence, entitlements, construction and asset management on all of our development projects.
